HEADWATERS

The book ‘Headwaters’ by Dylan Tomine was published in 2022 by Patagonia Books. I was honored to be asked by Dylan to illustrate his personal collection of stories about fly fishing & conservation. Told with both a great sense of humor and direction, we worked together with the team at Patagonia Books, designer, editor, & publisher, to clarify the feeling of how my drawings might best balance Dylan’s writing. Organized during covid with many zoom calls, all 30 drawings & a cover painting finally proved to compliment Dylan’s words.

After publication in April of 2022, I was honored to be included in a book tour event with Dylan & Ed Roberson of Mtn & prairie podcast in Brooklyn, NY. We also shared ‘Headwaters’ in Ketchum, Idaho & were joined in discussion by Jim Norton of the Idaho Conservation League. “Headwaters” was honored with the National Outdoor Book Award for Non Fiction as well as a number of gold & silver design & cover awards.
